Happy Easter 2008

Buon Pasqua!

I hope to see everyone next Saturday at noon in store for our charity event with Strong Women Strong Girls. We kick off on March 29th at noon and run through the afternoon ending around 4pm. I know everyone will be eager to improve the fortunes of the girls serviced by this local non profit organization. Every sale counts, 10% of the proceeds of our total revenue that day go to our charity partner so come out in support of www.swsg.org

Some of my favorite Eileen Fisher, Inc. pieces you can view this coming weekend are the Embellished Silk Tussah wrap, the Silk Shibori Dot scarf, and the Cotton Rope stand collar cardigan with belt. A great addition to our line is our recycled polyester outerwear. It is made entirely of recycled materials-discarded garments, plastic bottles and factory leftovers-our soft, durable Eco-Poly Rainwear is a must have. Spring 2008 has lots of nudes and many skin-toned options, and the palette of colors this season at EF range in neutrals from bone, ecru, natural to pebble. View our line on the web at www.eileenfisher.com and our personal shopping service has a toll free phone 866-512-5197 if you need more help.

What I will be wearing in my next life- designs by Lilith- available locally at Matsu 259 Newbury Street Boston (617) 266-9709 (Lilith 227 Mulberry Street New York City (212) 925-0080). If you are making a trip to shop on Newbury Street go toward the ‘green’. Try Envi at 164 Newbury Street Boston
(617) 267-3684 they carry many of the green designers I have been writing about in this blog www.shopenvi.com

Shakeh Designs was featured in the Boston Globe supplement, Fashion Boston March 2008. I hope you saw some of the great pieces showcased in the photos. These handmade jewelry pieces are available at Stel’s 334 Newbury Street Boston or on line at www.shakehdesigns.com

Sephora has a fun lipstick offer from Cargo called the Plant Love Botanical Lipstick. Some fun features are of course the color options all designed by Hollywood IT gals. I got the coral shade by Evangeline Lilly. The packaging is earth-friendly and because it is made from corn it is biodegradable. The box itself is embedded with wildflower seeds so you can moisten it and actually plant it in your spring garden. In addition every sale donates $2.00 from the proceeds to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Fun things to add to your wardrobe for spring Paul Smith Accessories, view them at Stil in Chestnut Hill at the Mall at Chestnut Hill.

I mentioned my interest in Ayurvedic Medicine and the chakra system last week. According to the teachings the body has seven major chakras which can be exercised and maintained through yoga such as the Hindu Yoga Model.

I began taking yoga in Newton Highlands, MA about a month ago with John Sanders and it is a great beginner class. Contact is JohnSandersYoga@hotmail.com 617-965-6416. He teaches in the style of Viniyoga, www.viniyoga.com for more information.
