Shades of Autumn

Another day at the frock shop ...

When helping people shop to make outfits I like to find things in the store that compliment what they already own. Most customers do not need a whole new fall 2008 wardrobe they just need to refresh the base they have already invested in. Once a customer is willing to prune their closet and are purging the things that do not work then it becomes easy to refresh a style for fall.

Autumnal shades in tonal range is what you want your fall style to consist of. Some monochromatic body suits and tons of fall color for layering. One of the great looks in store for us this year is a dress over pant or leggings with a very thin leather loose belt. Top that off with a faux fur vest or an Eileen Fisher, cashmere sweater/vest as seen in our fall advertising campaign. A fun Tartan scarf is a true accent piece. Play around with the looks of the season.

Metallic accessories are still huge and many fabric metallics have Lurex blended into the fiber to give it shine. Look for shoes and bags to add that touch of sheen. Play with it and have fun.
