Spring is coming to Boston

This week is short and sweet! Many are away for the President's Day holiday vacation week. Hoping you are out having fun.

Spring is right around the corner and as your style consultant I remind you that before you go out shopping for a new wardrobe for 2008 you should evaluate what it is that you already own. Go into your closet as if you are going shopping in a boutique.

You most probably have great things that seem ‘vintage’ but may just need hemming, slight repair, or some alterations to renew them. Now is the perfect time to pull out those gems and get them prepared for wear. Think minimalism and find ways to simplify your wardrobe for the upcoming season.

At the Eileen Fisher store we have found a great resource in the Chestnut Hill Mall for alterations. Our clients often need a good tailor and we have suggested that they call Susana Jovenich for her hours and visit this tailor at the Barney’s store. Call 617-969-5354 for an appointment at Barney’s NewYork Chestnut Hill.

Another resource is Robin Chalfin of Toolkit. She comes to your home and for $25.00/hr will work with you on premise for alterations, call for an appointment at (617) 548-5774.

This month of transition is a time to mix and match. A great satin jacket that you may have purchased for the holidays is paired with jeans for a more casual feel. A brocade skirt from the office holiday party may work well with a fitted sweater in a spring color hue. More clothing options being sold are moving us toward multi season use. Fashionistas know how to create fun combos especially with layers, layers are key. Layer up girls!

In store we have color for March that uses base neutrals such as peeble, natural, ecru, and graphite with colors to pop these base neutrals in scarlet, bleu and papyrus. Use neutrals to ease out of winter black, brown, charcoal and navy and step into spring with ease. I am here for you if you need a style tune up this season. Call to arrange a time to work with me one on one.
